A gentler place to start

Alli is a pharmacy medicine, so no prescription is needed, just the same short assessment so a clinician can check it’s right for you. Gentler and diet-led, with smaller results than the pens.

Orlistat 60mg · pharmacy medicine (P) Prescription-free

Alli

A capsule taken with meals that blocks about a quarter of the fat you eat, working in your gut rather than on your appetite like the weekly pens. It works alongside a lower-fat, reduced-calorie diet. Around 3–5% average weight loss in studies.3

  • No needles, and no prescription to arrange
  • Blocks around a quarter of the fat in each meal
  • A short assessment first, so a clinician can check it suits you

How it compares: gentler and slower than the weekly pens. Typical loss is around 3–5%3 of body weight alongside a lower-fat diet, more than dieting alone but well below the ~15–20%1, 2 averages seen with the injections. Some digestive effects, such as oily or loose stools, are common and ease on a lower-fat diet.

Good to know

Common questions

What if I'm not suitable after my assessment?
Your clinician reviews your full health picture during the free assessment. If neither medicine is right for you, they'll explain why and suggest alternatives or a referral to your GP where appropriate. There's no cost and no obligation.
How quickly will I see results?
Many members notice appetite changes within the first week or two. Visible weight loss typically appears around weeks four to six, with the strongest results usually between months three and six, depending on your starting point and how closely you stick with the plan.
What happens if I stop treatment?
Your appetite usually returns over a few weeks. Some members maintain their habits and weight; others gradually regain. You can pause or stop at any time, and your clinician can help you plan for it.
Can I switch between treatments?
Yes. If your clinician feels a different medicine would suit you better, they'll talk you through the change. Your treatment is tailored to your body and your goals, not fixed at the start.
What about side effects?
The most common effects, such as nausea, are usually mild and settle as your body adjusts, which is why the dose is increased slowly. Your clinician screens for risk factors first and stays available if anything concerns you.
How often will I hear from my clinician?
Closely in the first few weeks, then at regular check-ins and whenever you message. We stay in more frequent contact through the early months, then ease to a rhythm that suits you.
